Hi all,
I inherited an Aspire XC-605 and upgraded it from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.
As long as I have it, it wouldn't restart. It seems to close Windows and then screen goes into sleep mode, but the LED and fans keep going. This wasn't really an issue before, but the latest Windows update requires a few restarts to update properly. All I can do is wait till the screen goes to sleep and then do a manual restart with the power button.
I then get an error message that the PC didn't shut down properly and needs a restart, which it then promptly tries. I then need to restart it with the power button again, get the error message again and I'm stuck in this loop till I get the option to do a system restore. However, the updates aren't installed yet and the whole circus begins again.
The normal shutdown works fine.
Because I have also have the usual Win10 problem of freezing I have to do a hard restart several times per day anyway, but now that update tries to install itself every time the PC is booting up again... for which a restart is required and I get stuck in the loop again till I get the option for a system restore.
I only have a minimum of computer skills and I searched and tried solutions on Google for a week now, but nothing fixed this issue. Any help or suggestions are more than welcome!
