Remove Battery for power only?

I looked and couldnt find an answer.

Is it possible to remove the internal battery to run the computer on power supply only mode? I work in a enviornment where all electronics have to be controlled by a shutdown system in case of an emergency situation, power has to kill everything than can be an ignition source.

Or is there a setting somewhere that will accomplish this without removing the internal battery?

It's possible but we'll need the exact full model of the laptop to verify.

In checking our documentation the battery is on the mainboard and the bottom case has to be removed to access the battery. Because of this Acer does not consider this to be a user removeable part. If you are comfortable with removing the bottom case, you can certainly do so, however please keep in mind that any damage that may occur by doing so, would not be covered under the manufacturer's warranty and subject to a repair fee to fix.
