acer aspire switch 10e (x32 bit) 1TB HDD set to offline

Hi All,

 

Notebook -> Acer aspire switch 10E(x32-bit), windows 8.1

 

While trying to defragment thru System and security -> Storage spaces, I changed External HDD's status as "offline". I was not aware about its impact and behavior. Now, the HDD is not even displayed in Windows explorer home page, think it is changed to dynamic. but it is listed under Device Manager.

 

I tried to change its status thru same method System and security -> Storage spaces, but there, after clicking on "Change Setting", cursor loads for sometime but nothing really comes up. I have attached the screenshot below.

 

Not able to find any option to change the status or anything. Please help.

Device Manager is showing drive in unallocated mode.

Is this an external USB hard drive that you connected to the Aspire Switch? Not sure why there isn't an option to change the status once you set it to offline. Since Device Manager can see the drive you might check with Western Digital to see if they can offer any suggestions on changing the status of the drive. Perhaps other user's on the Community have some suggestions?
