acer aspire switch 10e (x32 bit) 1TB HDD set to offline

Hi,

 

Notebook -> Acer aspire switch 10E(x32-bit), windows 8.1

 

While trying to defragment thru System and security -> Storage spaces, I changed External HDD's status as "offline". I was not aware about its impact and behavior. Now, the HDD is not even displayed in Windows explorer home page. but it is listed under Device Manager.

 

I tried to change its status thru same method System and security -> Storage spaces, but there, after clicking on "Change Setting", cursor loads for sometime but nothing really comes up. I have attached the screenshot below.

 

 

Not able to find any option to change the status or anything. Please help.

    Hi,

     

    I didn't worked Smiley Sad Tried all given options.

    1. Using Disk Management: As, in devices it is mentioned as Unallocated and not initialized. So no option to make it online and even if I am choosing to initialize it as MBR/GUID, getting error message as "Incorect function".

     

    2. Using Command Prompt: In Diskpart external HDD is not listed. 

     

    3. Using PowerShell: Here, drive was listed but the problem is its Operational Status is "Failed". Still tried the commands given.

    what to do...I don't want to loose my data..
