Aspire v15 Nitro - no sound

My all but new V15 Nitro Black Edition has twice now had a RTKVHD64.SYS blue screen error. Upon rebooting the sound doesn't work. The first time around a factory restore fixed the issue, I don't fancy doing it again a week later!

RTKVHD64.SYS is the not surprisingly, the Realtek audio driver. This means that the Realtek audio driver is corrupted or missing. To fix this, press windows15x15.png+X, the select device manager. Under Sound, video, and game controllers, find the Realtek driver, and uninstall it. If prompted, click the box to delete the driver. Restart, then download the audio driver from http://support.acer.com and install it.

If that does not work, then you also need to install the driver for your CPU from http://support.acer.com. This time however, do not uninstall the driver first.

Hope this helps! Smiley Very Happy

    Hi,

Which V15 Nitro? There are a few V15 notebooks out there. The 592G actually had the biggest driver issues with the audio which was solved recently, in a driver update.

Go here: http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers  --> input your notebook model and then download the latest audio driver, and install it. The setup will remove the old driver and install the new one. This should solve your issue.
