V5 boot failure

My Aspire laptop model V5-122P newest problem is the blue screen of death and it reports this error "default boot device missing or boot failed". In researching this I've read that one possibility is the bios needs to be updated and another that suggest it's hardware. I've tried updating the bios using a USB stick while in recovery via command line. I have not had any success running the executable from there. So I researched again and found a suggestion that I needed to unzip the executable and find 2 files within that can be booted from a USB pendrive but quick as that, the person making the suggestion turned around and said forget that, it wont work on the V5. So, I turned to Acer support. They said I should buy a bootable recovery disk for $44. When I told that the problem is again, it wont boot and that I already have bootable USB stick with Win 10 and the bios on it the agent said I should go back and tell the person that said I needed a bootable recovery disk that my machine wont boot and see what they suggest, I said fine, you told me that, what do you suggest. Here I am. Does anybody have a real working solution for this problem to restore this machine back to Win10? Or should I Dban it and either start over or install something with a cute name like Peppermint or Puppy? Today I'm hating Acer nearly as much as I hate Microsoft. I'm not real comfortable with guys named Kevin than have obvious Indy accents either. I think I should not watch Kitchen Nightmares when I fix my machines either.
