When I purchase CD's to use with my Aspire 5532, which ones can I consider?

To write to or just read? Just about any type of CD or DVD can be read by this machine.

    Thank you, Jack E...

I have since read that this 5532 laptop can only read CD's, DVD's, etc.

Apparently that means that for recording /writing/burning I would have to purchase an external drive.  Do you confirm that?

    Thanks again.

    Your machine *SHOULD* be capable of both writing & reading these disk formats---24X CD-R, 24X CD-RW, 8X DVD-R, 8X DVD+R, 6X DVD-R DL (double-layer), 6X DVD+R DL (double-layer), 6X DVD-RW, 8X DVD+RW, 5X DVD-RAM.

I empasize *SHOULD* because the writable media disks themselves, not your machine's CD/DVD drive, are often unreliable and unstable in both reading and writing functionality --- some brands may be *slightly* better than others in quality.

Rather than rely on physical discs that I might want to use in my machine, I prefer virtual CD/DVD reader & writer device such as TotalMounter freeware which essentially reads & copies physical disks or files to CD/DVD format files as if your machine had another phyical CD/DVD drive.
