I have an FX5500 PCI graphics card I want to put into my Acer Veriton 5800 running Win7.

I put it in and loaded up some drivers I found. Device manager sees it and says it is working fine.

But I get no output from it.   Still get output from the onboard.

I guess I have to disable the onboard somehow and enable the card but I can't see how to do it.

I don't want to just uninstall the onboard without knowing for sure what I'm doing because I don't want to finish up with a machin with no video output at all - how could I put back the onboard drivers if that happened?

Or would the BIOS have a basic VGA output no matter what?  Somehow I doubt it.  Anyway, I need help.  Can anyone?

you need to check if BIOS has an option to disable onboard graphic, sometimes is available, sometimes is locked.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
