When I try to enter the secure boot settings, I am asked for a password. I did not create a password for this. Is there a way around this problem?

Asks for a password or says a password is required ?

Most secure boot settings require that first a BIOS password be set and used before the secure boot settings may be changed.

One you have made the changes you need then either reset the password to none or make sure you record the password in several safe places. If lost, an Acer technician must open the case to reset.

BTW I just booted Ubuntu 16.04 from a flash drive to both my R11 and Switch 12. Neither required any BIOS change beyond enabling a F12 boot selection.
