Can I use an Anker desktop usb charger with my Aspire Switch 10E SW3-013?

I am having dificulties in charging my Switch 10e. The machine is about 12 months old but the original micro usb cable suppled became faulty after a few months due to over use. This is because the machine takes a long time to charge for some reason, this has been the case from day one. The micro usb cable was to short for my needs and it was stretched a lot so that probably contributed to its failiure. I replaced the cable for one that is 4 meters in lengh, still using the original usb plug provided.

However this seems to make the usb plug very hot and there is a burning smell and i think it is begining to fail. The charging time is still very slow.

i am thinking of replacing it with an Anker Desktop USB charger which claims it will charge the devices faster. However i am not sure if the voltage and ouput etc is compatible with the battery/machine? I dont want to order one and use it without checking that it will not damage my machine or cause a fire etc.

Here is a link to the product i was thinking of: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Charging-Compatible-PowerPort-PowerIQ/dp/B017KHCZPI/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1473526148&sr=8-10&keywords=anker+usb+charger

I was also wondering if the 4 meter cable was too long and thats what caused the original usb plug to fail?

Thanks

The heat and smell makes me think the cable is not just too long, but has either too small of wires in it or a bad connection. Your machine expects a 5V 2A supply, with the appropriate circuit to charge at the full 2A instead of the standard 500mA that stock USB provides. If the cable was designed for 500mA it might not handle the full 2A well, which could cause overheating and burned insulation, shortly before going uo in smoke...

The device you link to looks like it provides 2A fast charge circuits on each of the six ports, so should work just fine. I'd go to a better cable though, since the long one is going to have the same issues with this devices as it did with the original charger.
