Aspire V15 Nitro screen quality

So I have this new Acer Aspire V15 Nitro black edition laptop. I like it alot, except the screen quality is quite poor imo.

I bought it online so I didnt saw the laptop before. I can still return the laptop within a week if I want to and Im considering it.

Just the details of text and some images is really poor for a 1300 euro laptop. It has a full HD 1080p sticker on it but it doesnt even look close to HD.

The text in the top right circle looks fine, but most of the text looks a bit blurry/pixelated like in the other circles. Is the screen quality just poor or is there a way to fix it by drivers or something?

This has nothing to do with the screen quality, its a matter of windows settings. Windows is increasing the size of the fonts, so it wouldnt be too small (as it would be normally in full hd). You can change it - right click on the desktop, select screen settings (second from bottom) and the first setting should be set at 125%, just change it to 100% and the texts will be sharp, but much smaller.

btw if you want to determine the screen quality, just turn on the same picture on two different screens and you will see. According to reviews v15 nitro should have one of the best screens in its price range. I can compare it with lenovo Y50 and acer wins all the way (both screen are IPS panels).

Thanks for your answer, it was on 125% indeed. But changing it to 100% made it even worse.

Text on sites is just way too small and its very hard to read. The resoulation is on 1920x.. which is the default one but it just looks really bad. Any other suggestions ?

Also icons in the taskbar on the bottom look pixelated. The spotify icon doesnt even look nice rounded up, I can see the black pixels against the green ones. The windows icon doesnt look smooth at all for example.

The problem of the first post is a windows problem as thay already said, and the proof is that only some applications have this kind of problem.
For example chrome doesn't have this issue, and also none of the store apps are affected.
If you want to fix it for some specific programs you can leave the scaling ad 125%, and than go to the exe of the program -> properties -> compatibility and disable screen resize for high DPI values.

ps: if you decide to leave the scaling to 100%, you can easily increase thext size on chrome with ctrl+mouse wheel or in the settings menu.

If you want to see if the screen is truly the issue (which I doubt) you can boot a linux system via USB, and see if the linux system looks the same.

Also could you tell us what drivers you have for your intel graphics card, and what intel graphics card you have? It's for sure some sort of scalling issue or you don't have intel drivers instaled.

I noticed that blurry font too but only in device manager. In all other apps the writing is clear and sharp.

Has anyone here calibrated the screen on the V15 NITRO and would like to share the icc profile with the rest of us, please?

    Hi,

So looks like you have a beta driver for intel. Did you try to put the latest beta driver?

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/88345/Intel-HD-Graphics-530-for-6th-Generation-Intel-Core-Processors

You can try the 4474 or the 4463 to see if it would help in any way.

Still I think it's a scaling issue, tbh.
