Acer Switch 10 wifi issues after upgrading to windows 10

Hi,

I brought an Acer Aspire switch 10 E recently and I have been fighting to try and connect it to the internet, after just recently upgarding to Windows 10.

I have the latest driver installed - VERSION 3008.28.0301.2016

The issue I get is, I can see wifi networks but I am unable to connect to my home Virgin Network.

It asks for passphrase which I enter correctly but it says cannot connect.

The only time I can connect is if I reboot the router and immediately connect.

If the laptop is then reset, it sees the network, but fails to connect again.

I have looked at various suggestions of manually connecting using SSID, which I have tried.

I have used drivermax to install the latest driver

I have tried to play with the settings two.  e.g. bandwidth frequencies.

There are no power management wifi options but i don't think i need to fiddle about with these because wifi can be seen.

Can you help?

When something like that happens, first I use a third party program like InSSIDer to looks at what is going on. About half the time I find the signal is being walked on by another router using the same channel. Even though there are really only three clear channels (1, 6, and 11) I often use 3 or 9 to maximise a connection.

Guys,  You need to be keeping us non techies up-to-date with drivers.  You don't have up-to-date drivers on your website that resolve this issue and the internet has all sorts of dodgy places to load drivers.

Please keep it simple and have either an auto-update app or website link.

I have sent my laptop back as I am unable to resolve the issue.  I won't be buying another.

It’s unfortunate that you had to send the unit back.  We're trying to make it as easy as possible to update drivers and firmware, with Acer Care Center you can search for updates in the Updates section.  Here is a tutorial on Acer Care Center.  Driver, firmware and software updates can also be found in our Drivers and Manuals website.
