Z3-615 All in One PC - CD/DVD Driver

Hi,  My CD/DVD player suddenly stopped being recognized and I tried to update the driver - (it said I had the latest) - I then uninstalled it, thinking it would re-install when I rebooted it - that didn't happen.

Any ideas where I could download the CD/DVD Driver - I don't see anything on the ACER Website.

Thanks

There is no separate CD/DVD driver for the optical drive. The driver is included in the operating system and should automatically be recognized by Windows. If it suddenly stopped working you can try refreshing the Windows operating system to rule out a software issue. If the drive does not show up after a refresh or restore, it may need a hardware issue.

Thanks - After 2 Days of fighting and a BSOD I finally managed to get both the system and the CD/DVD Rom back - Not sure exactly how, I tried all of the remedies I read online without success but after installing and uninstalling Power ISO, running Full Malware and Antivirus and a bit more fighting and restarting, it eventually came back...not exactly sure what remedied it.

    Thanks anyway for your help

btw.... Acer-Mary .. This was a helpful response.... I had found out the name of Driver of the CD/DVD ROM and went searching for it online.

I got a bunch of hits - EACH ONE leading to one of those Driver update Subscription programs. They quote the specific name of the Driver you're looking for and if you don't watch out for the name of the download (e.g. Driverupdate tool) then you could go ahead and download and be led to a subscription page or you will get a trial of something you were not looking for.

I already had subscribed to the Acer-recommended driver update application so I didn't need another.

Be very wary folks in this same situation !
