I just used a program to see my benchmark. and it says I have a HD 530 (Mobile Skylake). What is tht? I thought i had a gtx 980m. Is that the reason i can only run games on low

your games might run on the integrated graphics only.

Try pressing button red 1 (use external graphics).

If you are not succesful, you try the Nvidia Control Panel and adjust the 3 d settings to use the Nvidia for that game manually.

When I press the red 1 button I see a picture with two chips. Should I use that one or the one with only 1 chip. Also where is the Nvidia control panel. Do I have to download that or any drivers for it.

Yes, you should choose one chip for external graphics.

There 's a quiet good manual which explains basics like that.

    Should be easier?

Control Panel is a part of Nvidia Driver.

You don't have to download anything.

    Good luck!

I don't get why Acer would make their customers do that. I expect when I buy a gaming laptop that it should already be good to go. Instead now I got to read manuals and go into control panel and play with the 3d setting.

So are you saying that I have to go into the go Nvidia control panel and adjust the 3d setting for every game I play ? I rather buy another laptop that allows me to just play the game without always manually changing settings

you should better look for a better programmed game. I never had a game which was not played correctly. But some guys in the forum here did already. So you ask for a solution. If you prefer to make your basic experiences with another product, just go for it. But if you choose again an system with activated internal graphics, you might have to handle it with your games as well.

You don't need to change the settings for EVERY game. Just hit the first red macro key, until it shows the single chip, and your good to go. If your still having troubles, then it's something other than the computer itself. Driver is out of date, game might need a patch, your Power Plan could be on "Power Save" rather than "High Performance", etc.

No laptop comes fully tweaked and tuned to the max right from the factory. They come with moderate settings that do a decent job for most things. You want the absolute best performance, you're going to have to tweak it a little.

I would offer to help using TeamViewer, but that's up to you.

I fix the issue thanks BestStevie. I went to Nvidia Control panel and change the 3d setting. Now I have another issue. My screen went all flickery with green and pink horizontal lines. Lol

    ughhh!

so you should try to give more details like:

    - this happens when game (name of the game) started

    - or it just started after adjusting the settings and it don't stop?

    - it starts suddenly after starting game or after a while?

But it could be a problem with the graphics hardware as well. For e. g. if there's a system overheat it does things like that as well. Maybe you should better contact your notebook shop.

After I change the 3d setting everything was working fine. I tried total war and I was able to play in ultra. Than after that I played dota 2 and that's when it happen. Now it's always flickering green and pink horizontal lines. Even when I'm at safe mode

ok. it should be better, to bring it back and get a working one. Maybe the damage of the NVidia Chip was a reason why system has chosen the Intel Graphics....

But it sounds like overheating or connectioin problems to the dispay....

Yeah, my guess was going to be a faulty NVIDIA GPU. That specific issue is a little hard to diagnose remotely.
