Ethernet controller is no longer listed in device manager

I have an ACER 603G with Win 7 Pro installed. Thanks for the help on this.

At this point I can't access the internet. My ethernet controller is no longer listed in device manager. The area where it was listed now states "unknown device". This issue has been ongoing since I uninstalled a piece of software. I had been able to load the default BIOS and that worked until yesterday. I've downloaded the BIOS again (P11-B2) and tried installing it with no luck. The first time this happened the controller was disabled and I was able to correct it in Device Manager

Check on BIOS if network adapter is disabled or try to re-install drivers:
