Aspire Switch 12 (SW5-271) - problem with USB 3.0, WiFi and BT

Hi.

My problem is that when I connect a USB 3.0 pen or external hdd to the usb 3.0 port, my WiFi and/or Bluetooth disconnects. Is this a defect of my hybrid or does it happens with this model? Is there a solution to this problem?

Btw, the USB 2.0 port works well with my USB 3.0 hdd and pen.

Thank you.

Never noticed anything like that on mine. Have you tried a different cord ?

Yes, I tried with different cables and adapters and everytime I connected a USB 3.0 HDD or pen to the USB 3.0 port it would always disconnect my WiFi.

But it only happened with USB 3.0 devices. With USB 2.0 devices, the USB 3.0 port worked fine.

From what I've been reading, it could be a problem with the power: if I connect to the USB 3.0 port a device that is more power hungry, it could drain the power from the WiFi card in case they are connected to the same power source. I don't know if this can happen in this hybrid, but if it only happens in mine, maybe it came damaged or defected.

    Hi again.

I decided to try another thing. I disabled USB3.0 from BIOS so that it worked as USB2.0 and now the USB3.0 port works fine as USB 2.0 as I can use it along with the wifi and bluetooth.

So the problem must be with the energy provided to the port (which would mean that my hybrid came with defect) or with the USB 3.0 driver itself.
