Screen completely froze while in excel (Predator G9-591 LV)

Hi all.  I was just working in excel.  I wasn't on power & my battery was under 20% so i decided to plug it into power. As soon as i did, my laptop completely froze.  No mouse or any keys would work at all.  Tried CTR-ALT-DEL to do a soft reboot, tried pressing the windows key to navigate with arror keys but it was completely frozen.

i noticed in the task bar to the right the NVIDIA square which is usually grey (assuming this is when only integrated graphics card is being used) turned green but i was unable to do anything at all.  i pressed the big power button which put the screen black, then pressed it again & i was able to log back on and the laptop seems ok now.

My question is what do you think happened and what could the problem be?  I'm hoping this doesn't reoccur again as i was lucky i saved my file.  I dont want to have to hold the power button again if this happens.

Would appreciate any help if anyone could guess what might have happened & what problem might have caused it.

Thanks very much.

Not sure why this occurred but you might try duplicating this by allowing the battery to get down below 20% again and plug in the AC adapter like you did before. Of course you might not want to be working on something that needs to be saved prior to trying this again. If the same thing happens, it could be a hardware related issue requiring repair. If that is the case contact your Acer service location for your country at http://www.acer.com/worldwide/.
