Hey all,

Anyone try and make a 80mm to 110mm adaopter plate? for 2nd SSD? seems like it wouldnt be that hard.

They sell adapter cards, just might be overkill...a length of plastic or desktop case material with a few holes...seems pretty straight foreward...better than 30$ bracket shipped from Germany...anyone? anyone?

After pricing  the Acer replacement bracket (which should have been included) , shipping and tax...its like half the cost of my ssd? wtf seriously?

I'd like one, but that's my thought. It's just too expensive for me. I might see if I can craft one. I have some thin, strong aluminum sheets I can work with.

I agree that Acer should actually include the bracket for the 2nd M.2 SSD drive since it is based on a non-standard 22110 length and probably include another rubber sleeve for the 2.5 inch conventional laptop drive. First thing I did was change out the 2.5 std. drive to a 1TB SSD Sata III drive.  I made a decent 2280 to 22110 adapter out of some scrap fiberglass electronic experimenters pegboard for adding in the 2nd M.2 drive. It's strong and holds the 2280 in the 22110 slot just fine. I had to scrounge finding a small hold down screw that had the correct thread from my collection of small laptop screws I saved from junk laptop throw aways.

Considering that the G9-791 is a high end laptop Acer should take into consideration that buyers of the product will be the type of users that will want to upgrade it and add capacity.

I find it a little troubling that there isn't a single US seller for the part. Guess I'll be making my own. But I'll have to find a screw somewhere.

I ordered mine from acer canada store, and i live in the middle east, it was so expensive i nearly paid 80$ for 2 ssd brackets, they're a very tiny aluminum piece with a screw hole and does not come with screws, i think you can 3D print it for so cheap if you clone it, i didn't install my second ssd yet, having a hardtime to figure out how to clone my 1st SSD on my second one, because my NVME upgrade ssd can only fit on the 1st slot :/ and the 1st slot has the main os... it is really tricky..

Use Clonezilla. Clone the original SSD to an "image". Swap out the drives. Then clone the "image" onto the new drive.
