I'm not sure which R3 model you have, I don't find references for a n15w5... But we're going to need to know a bit more anyway. What is the first error that it shows when booting, before it gives the option to try repair, or does it boot directly into the automatic startup repair? Have you tried it without any peripherals connected, no USB drives, no printer, no phone...

On the tag with the serial number it says r3-131T-C1YF. It doesnt give an error. Just goes to acer screen and then black screen. Somewhere i read to hold power button til it goes off turn back on immediately turn off again and repeat until it goes into recovery mode. I tried all the options,  resettig keepimg my files erasimg everything booting in saf3 mode etc. It will say there was a problem with the reset no other error .  Now i cant get to recovery mode. Initially i just tried to rest it amd from there all the trouble started

OK, the model number is R3-131T, the other characters are specific to a SKU, so it'd be different for a computer setup for a different locale.

Which OS do you have on it right now? Still on Windows 8.1 or have you upgraded to 10? IIRC they had Home installed except for a few SKUs that had Professional instead. My R3 (that I'm typing on currently) is the -471T and has the 14" screen instead of the 11".

Likely we're going to have to get you booted up on an OS disk, and let it try the repair. I'm guessing since the reset only went part way that the reset image is corrupted.

I'm also having this problem. It goes to the acer scree, goes black then goes back to the acer sce\reen. I use my laptop for streaming and have NEVER had an issue resetting before. i only bought it a few months ago.

My laptop tries to boot up but it just comes up with the acer screen and then goes black. it does this over and over again.

Is there a way to repair the OS even though the computer does not have a disk drive?

    Model Number: R3-131T

Did you try holding down alt-F10 while booting to go into the "Recovery" menu, The select "Troubleshooting" and the recovery option that seems best ?

@avaughn1217 you should start a new thread with your question, include the model number and what you have tried so far and we'll try and get you fixed up.

It seems ACER has a big problem with that. I have exact the same issue like so many others have here.

For some reason my XC-840 reboots over and over again. This happens when the PC goes into sleep mode and usually by moving the mouse it comes back into life. Not with mine and I guess for many others as well. It shows an error code: B1 Initialize Library failed 0xc0000001. It comes back into life when I remove the power plug for few minutes. What can I do about this? Is there any life person I can talk to? Thanks guys for your help. MacArthur.
