Did they really not include a light to let you know when the hard drive on your V3-572P is working?

I can not find any thing to let me know when my hard drive is working or being accessed on my V3-572P.  Am I blind or did they not include a light for this purpose?  If so is there any way to know via a add on program or something similar?

    Hi,

Task manager has a section called performance where you can see the disk activity in percentage and also the read/write processes and the current speed of reading and writing. This is available in w10 and w8, in w7 you need to use the resource monitor.

Thanks for the reply but I was looking for something that would let me know no matter what program I am in or what state the computer is in. I've had this on all my other laptops with a lamp that would light when the HDD was being accessed.  I guess Acer was too cheap to include this small item on this model.  I did find a program that has an icon tha shows green or red depending on if the HDD is writing or reading.  But it isn't alway accurate so I guess I'll hsve to keep looking.

In a way you are funny:-).

I can tell you that you can buy much higher end model notebooks and more expensive (eg Apple, Sony, Lenovo) and you will not find on most of them a HDD activity indicator. And I am sure that those are also "cheap" companies.

I have in my lab two sony, one lenovo and one razer notebooks, all of them models from 2014 and 2015, and none of them have an LED indicator for HDD/SSD activity.  (the Razer one can be considered as a workstation based on the performance)

    Probably you tried this software:

No that was not the software I was using, this is better and will help out a lot.  I didn't mean to be a smart alek but this is the only computer I have ever owned, desktop or laptop that did not come with a led to show HDD activity. My last Acer which I consider a low end machine had one.  Being this is the first laptop I purchased in 8 years it might be many of them have eliminated the LED indicator.  Anyway, thanks for the link at least now I can tell when the HDD is active.
