My Aspire TC-705 desktop freezes in World of Warcraft after a few minutes play.

The game had been freezing after anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes of play.

WoW help suggested disabling all the many background processes (67) and re-setting power management to 'high performance.' After doing this, I still had 29 background processes, including 3 by McAffee that I really don't want ever . Then the free to play version of WoW worked for 24 minutes before it froze. The only way out of the freeze is to re-boot the computer.

I still get pop-ups to get office, and 'get started' ("Start to experience Acer BYOC apps & services)

WoW help thinks it's the many pop-ups that are freezing the game.

1. Do you agree?

2. How do i get rid of them?

3. What else can I do?

Thanks, I should have mentioned that the computer is only 6 months old and came with Windows 10 already installed. The WoW help suggested I check the video driver, and Acer has a feature to check that. It tested the computer and said the video driver was the latest.

I tried to reset the game to low quality video, but it kept freezing up and didn't save any changes because I couldn't quit the game, just had to re-boot the computer.

Somehow I thought that since this is an Acer board, I didn't need to list the computer specs. My bad.

12.0 GB RAM

64 Bit OS x 64 based processor

Intel HD graphics 4600 chip on the motherboard

I'll try the gameplay.intel.com link ... Does that adjust the game settings in the computer?

The gameplay.intel/com link shows that WoW is a game I should be able to play.

Try manually updating the intel HD4600 graphics driver.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please try the steps to improve the pop-up “Start to experience Acer BYOC apps & services” issue.

Go to [Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features] and uninstall [Acer Portal] and [AOP Framework] on your PC.
Download and install [Acer Portal] on Windows PC from Acer BYOC Apps website.
Make sure both [Acer Portal] and [AOP Framework] are in [Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features.

Uninstall + download [Acer Portal] seems to have worked. After disabling all background processes and using the reccommended game settings from gameplay/intel.com . I played for an hour with no problems.
