W510 charge time broken? Indicator broken?

pretty sure chargw timevfor this device is only supposed to be 3hrs tops ...Incould be miztaken but it shpuldn't need to charge almost 12hrs. Mine has been on since around 8 pm last night ans it's 7:30am now and it's still showing redlight ...when i turned it on its battery is full charged! Indictor coukd be broken ?

    Are you running the original operating system, or did you load another OS? You may try  recovery using the links below.

    If that does not resolve your issue, I would recommend you contact Acer support for your region to inquire about setting your unit up for service.

    It was regarding charge time and charging issues. Where you got what you wrote is again beyond me !!  W510 comes with Windows 8 !   Not anywhere in my post did I mention using a different OS or recoverying or wanting to recover at all !!!

    Thank you for your feedback. I do apologize for my previous response. When I read your original post, I missed that the battery is fully charged when you turned it on.  I asked if you were running another OS, as that can make the hardware behave differently. If you have left the system charging overnight, and the indicator is still red, there could be a hardware problem causing the indicator light to stay red. Have you tried recovering the system? If recovery doesn't work, my next recommendation would be service.

    Well that was clear that there is an issue. I'm trying to conslude if this was just a freak happening when different firmware was implamented as with most BIOS, FIRMware updates Refeeshes and or Reloading the OS it requires that the tablet be plugged in as so no interuption happens during so the HD is not effected by power loss. And in doing so either man ytimes or over a period may have adversely effect the interanl board as when doing this process it gets very warm on the outside no doubt un needed heat on the internal componets. SO if I can't repeat it I won't be worried ..I I can than I will contact Acer Support but if i do it will be for a fix /replacement not adivce as I'm pretty at my wits end in doing that!
