Hi guys, looking for some help...
A few weeks ago I started getting vertical lines on my screen, that would often disappear after my PC started up. I thought nothing of it at the time. Unfortunately, lately, my monitor becomes filled with these lines, making it unusuable (see pics below).
Now, more on the issue. It seems that uninstalling my 980TI through the device manager and allowing it to reinstall will fix the issue until the PC is turned off and back on or restarted. When the problem occurs, it does not matter what is plugged into the monitor, the problem will persist. Normally, my monitor is connected to my PC through the DP; I have tried, using a different graphics card, connecting it to my PC via an HDMI wire and the problem does not go away. Even after turning off the PC, the startup for the monitor where it says Acer X34 the problem will remain. I even plugged in my PS4, using its HDMI which is normally connected to a different monitor, and the vertical lines remained. The only way to temporarily rid of them is to completely uninstall my GPU and have it automatically reinstall. I have tried not using G-Sync and using various resfresh rates, to no avail.
My question is: does this seem more of a GPU/driver issue or a hardware issue? I am concerned it is a hardware issue because of the way the issue remains even after I plug something else into the monitor; I tried doing a search to find if anyone else has had a similar issue and was unable to find any useful information. That is why I am now here...I really hope it is not a hardware issue as I really do not want to ship the thing to Acer, with it being so large and requiring such large packaging.
Thank you for your help
