This type of error typically requires you to boot from a Windows installation disk that matches the version you are running, then let it do an automatic repair. Sometimes it gets more involved than that, but it's usually enough. Easiest way with a Switch 10 is probably a bootable thumb drive with your OS version on it. Here's an example of the fix on a Microsoft site.

I got the same message, but what happened was before my netbook's screen went black, is I had it plugged into a loose wall outlet. My battery got drained, and when I plugged it into a good outlet, I got the above message. I've had to move around and put stuff in storage, but I have a couple of thumb drives. But when I put in the 16GB one, it just sits there. I don't know if it's doing anything or not. The 16 GB one I think has boot directions on it, but I'm not sure.

I really don't have money for a fix, and the antivirus (VIPRE) is for my machine only (lifetime subscription). If I got a new netbook, I'd have to spend over $100 for another subscription.

     Anything else I can do?
