Planning to buy Acer Liquid Jade Z tomorrow at 25-6-2016!! PLEASE READ ACER!

Hello there,

As you read the title, I'm planning to buy the phone Acer Liquid Jade Z tomorrow, at the dutch time zone. So my question is, will this phone get a new Android ROM update? from 4.4.4 to 5.0 or 6.0??

I know there are topics with about the same or exact question but they are sooo poorly answered that I need to make a new topic about it. So ACER, give please me/us the detail about this phone, what are the plans?? The phone is about a year old which isn't old! I'm stuck with the phone named Wolfgang AT-AS40D which is a shi**y phone and there has never been a update for it!

And since this phone has some great specifications for a budget smartphone (if I will get it, it will cost for me right now 130,- euro) there HAS to be a update to a newer version to fix the bugs, the tweaks and to improve the performance on the software side. So Acer, I beg you, answer me if you will make the update. If you do this then it will be very smart and nice to do it as what I said earlier, the phone has the specifications to have a better Android OS. I want the Acer developers it self for this phone to answer it properly or someone at least who knows the information about it who has contact or has read it somewhere from Acer. I know I sound ridiculous but I want the worth of my money as I don't want to make a another mistake as I did with my current phone Wolfgang AT-AS40D.

Thanks for reading the long message and for responding.

Kind Regards,

Enes

So I bought the phone, looks and works like a charm Smiley Happy But the only thing what's annoying are the preinstalled apps which I cannot remove Smiley Embarassed

But for the rest it looks good! but yeah android runs at 4.4.4 kitkat! I also checked if there's a software update and nope! So I hope by this Acer you can make me and others more happy with the software update Smiley Happy

Hahaha , this is so funny. Acer Jade Z is like Tata Nano in car world. I have it and i must say Jade Z is the worst phone that i ever had. Hardware is OK for price. But software omfg so so bad. Acer where did u find developers? U shuld fire them all,  they dont know how to optimise system. Battery drains like mad , lags when u open dialer and so on and so on. 0 support.  My last Acer product.

I need to agree with you, camera, the lag sometimes, software in general because it eats battery. Acer fix this by optimizing the android software to the newer versions, READ THIS ACER. Your customers wants a update for a good phone.

I have read that the Operating System, Android Kitkat 4.4.4 on the phone Acer Liquid Jade Z (S57) is a 32 BITS OS. Which means... the phone doesn't get 100% performance out of it!... I'm truly a bit shocked when I've read this at a website. Of course I have visited some more websites to see if this is true or not and yes it is.

So Acer workers, I know you read these posts and please tell me when the update comes as you know **bleep** well when it is or it doesn't come at all.. I am pushing you guys because I want the best out of the phone as I never had a good phone, I always had a bad phone with poorly optimized software and bad hardware because I bought it for a cheap price. Now I bought this phone for really good hardware for the price of it and I'm more then happy with the result of the phone with the hardware. But the only downsides are in the software it self, because many things can be fixed and optimized.

So by this I hope one of you will at least reply and that properly, as I'm not one of those persons who don't know anything in the ICT and Customer-World Smiley Wink

This is a peer to peer support forum. Acer does not monitor it nor post here to answer technical questions.

But one of you has contacts with the technicians... And this is a very easy question that I have. Just ask the second line support and they will answer it..

Sorry, but at this time, the latest supported version available for this product is 4.4.4. I do not know if or when an update to a later version may become available. If an update becomes available, it will be automatically pushed to your device.

    4.4.2 or 4.4.4 ?..

Impossible that it's 4.4.2 the latest one.

Very sorry. You are correct. It is KitKat 4.4.4.

Get rid of this miracle and forget the brand ACER, no support, no good product. Sell calculators in the guise of smartphones (Quad-core with a gig of RAM slows down like an old single-core). I again will incur in service center, there is no force to work with him.

    Just noticed this.

I can't make a screenshot on my phone. Tried power button + volume down and up. Tried with home button as well and tried by holding the powerbutton and then to choose in the menu the screenshot button but there's NO screenshot option at all. Like come an... it's Android 4.4.4 Kitkat and since Android 2.3+ there's support for screenshot.

I had to download a screenshot app which sucks. Can you guys maybe do something with this please?

    Thanks for reading and answering.

Didn't know that, thanks!  But they should add screenshot button though at the power menu.

Shane, I wouldn't have, best place is the bin. You are buying phones which are two android versions behind the latest android version.....
