Problem:

Power does not come on. Had 75% battery charged. Tried
a. power on/off button
b. power on/off button +  volume Up/Down button for 60 or more seconds  (technique IF power in deep sleep mode)
c. a/c power cord ... light to show charging or power on does not light up AND tablet does not become hot .... in other words, tablet does not accept power coming in from being plugged into electric outlet

Solutions to get power back on

1.   maybe central motherboard battery is dead ... well, in past my LAPTOP would work with only AC power cord and no battery.... but...this is a tablet which maybe functions like a mobile phone in that if battery is dead, then unit does not work until central battery has sufficient charge

2.  maybe some electric circuit problem?

3.  maybe a deep sleep mode reset?   .... but already there is a technique for this situation and i've tried it

4.  maybe software power settings, but if cannot get to boot. cannot get to the BIOS.

Many thanks for any help.

Solution ... it was an electrical problem, capacitor w/ low-volt charge had gone below it's threshhold to function, voltage decaying over time.  Replaced.  Laptop functions as it did prior to not working.

Test AC power cord with meter. It should read 12 volts.

Try holding down power "only"  for 30secs. Then try normal start.

    Thanks for suggestion.

As mentioned, i tried the power on/off button (only)  and held it short time and a longer time(30 to 60 seconds)

AC Power cord had worked 1 hour before to get tablet charged to 90%+ before airplane ... dont have a volt meter as im trave;ing with backpack but believe nothing changed wth the AC power cord

i did come across this google search result, which gives a few suggestions such as removing battery, RAM, pluggiung into another monitor and perhaps that's the reason the Acer tablet will not turn on

.... BUT the links from this initial page of suggestions  ar all for some older LAPTOPs whichj is not useful for tablet

Does anyone have a link to Service Manual or images of layout under cover of tablet  Acer Switch 10  SW5-012 ??

I've taken off the cover but little space height in a tablet vs laptop, and not sure where the battery, RAM, storage are located ...and then steps to get at those areas.

One possibility would be a disconnected display or backlight cable. That would give a blank screen...

Thanks ...disconnected display and backlight are not the problem - this I know from personal experience on laptop ... Laptop power would start and could hear it accessing hard drive , boot process but nothing displayed.

However here with Tablet, power button with or without AC power cord does not even start, so it doesn't get to HDD or display and doesn't boot because power does not come on.

Have been to 3 service shops and they told me that they would only do what I've already tried.

Still want my data from storage. Still looking for answers and repair service manual and instructions to get at battery, RAM, storage etc

Yeah, in my case it was SOOO simple! :D
I simply removed the back of the monitor/touchscreen and immediatly saw the cable that goes to the little board with the side buttons unplugged.
Just plugged back again, and that's it! Hehe.
