Hi all.  Just had Acer Care Center icon pop-up on taskbar.  Clicked and opened Care Center.  Clicked on the blue Update rectangle to see if there were any new updates.  Previously it was alerting me to the Thunderbolt3 Firmware update.  Under "Driver Updates" it is showing 2 updates are available:

1)  Intel AMT Driver (Version 11.0.0.1176) and

2)  Audio Driver (Version 6.0.1.7695)

I'm always a little aprehensive when updating drivers as i know it doesn't always fix things and can sometimes cause problems.  Before updating i just want to know should i proceed and click on the updates?

What is Intel AMT Driver?  Should i click to update?  Same with the Audio Driver.  Thanks in advance, just being extra careful.  Appreciate anyone's help or opinion.

    Hi,

never change a running system. If there's no yellow exclamation mark in the device manager, you should not need to install the AMT driver. It has something to do with serial port emulation. Infos easiliy found with your favorite search engine in your language at Intel.

I cannot find any more sound driver at the website of Acer, maybe they're just about to upload the driver you're talking about. Unfortunately I don't use care center.

Thanks for your reply beststevie, much appreciated.  I did update the Audio driver, i had an earlier version & thought it can't do any harm but only enhance my sound but haven't as yet updated the Intel AMT driver and probably won't unless i hear it's wise to do so.

    Thanks again, much appreciated.
