Aspire V5-431. Cannot get into BIOS. F2 doesn't work

This latop was originally factory installed with Windows 8. I've recently upgraded to Windows 10. All went fine and the laptop works fine. HOWEVER.

When I boot he laptop, the acer splash screen appears and I try to get into BIOS with F2 but it doesn't work. F2 is ignored. I don't knowe why. The user manual for this laptop say that F2 should work for accessing BIOS.

 

The only way for me to get into BIOS is through Windows Recovery.

Recovery -> Troubleshoot -. Advanced Options -> UEFI Firmware Settings

 

I have an acer E1-571 and F2 works fine.

 

Like to fix this. Can you provide a solution.. Thanks.

 

P.S F12 works. At the bottom of Boot Manager menu I can access the Setup (BIOS) from here.

 

Is this the way acer intended for this particular model to access BIOS? It contradicts the user manual though???

I don't have your computer model, but I tested an R5-471T.  You had to be extremely quick hitting the F2.  There was a very brief window of opportunity.  Honestly though, I would probably just stick with the other method (that you're currently using).  It's not very often that one has to change the UEFI/BIOS settings.

Or I use the Shift-Restart method.....usually.
