i have been having issues with   Acer Aspire 5536-5255 that has been over heating and turning off and no long will allow windows to do updates. been wondering about the Ventilation slots and cooling fans on the back..as picture in the quick book guide on page 10 it shows that number 6 is this vent. how ever  on the back of mine i can see where the slot should be but it  looks as the slots where never completed to allow air flow..is this a flaw..i have  done reformats on pc a number of times and still remain with the same issues at a later point and have to reformat again. so can some point me in the right direction on a fix .. please and ty kindly.

If you have reformatted your computer and are still having problems with it shutting off due to overheating, I would recommend you contact Acer support for your region to inquire about setting your unit up for service.
