Hi everyone. 2 days ago i bought an acer predator z35. All good and stuff, for games like bf4,csgo, batman ak, call of duty, shadow worrior, thief, mad max etc. Now i found some problems.

In resident evil revelations 2, portal 2, far cry4 I got bad ghosting, smearing and bloody hell, texture smearing as well due to motion. Far cry 4 is terrible, because is combined with green and greys like a few games that i stated above that have gray and black colors, smearing, ghosting appears no matter of the refresh rate. I got two gtx 970 on sli tho. Im using display port.

Another massive problem is that my monitor with overdrive off or normal, locks whatever refresh rate i set to 144hz when i am entering a game. I enabled refresh rate num to see. No matter if i set it to 100/120/85/60 is still stuck to 144. Over 144hz works if i enable overclock but not what i said above. How can i test my massive games with a simple refresh rate of 100/120 if my screen is stuck at 144 hz when entering a game?(on desktop, it is 120hz, but when i launch a game is going to set max refresh at 144). Yes i used nvidia control panel and windows as well. I am using gsync as well.

Any ideas/solutions? Sorry, i wrote this from my phone in a hurry.

I loved my Acer Z35 ... except the ghosting ...

Acer were unable to fix the smeering / ghosting i experienced in certain games and I ended up returning the monitor for a refund.

For such a premium panel i really think Acer should consider pulling them all off the market and fixing the ghosting before trying to introduce them back.

Goodluck - there's no fix for the ghosting. Either live with it , or return it and get sometihng else. all the 35" 21:9 panels currently sufffer from that.

The ghosting/smearing on dark transitions is an inherent characteristic of VA panels and NOT a defect. They can't magically fix it.
