Couple problems with Acer Aspire 5600U

I have been having a couple of issues with my new all in one that I hope there is a fix for or that is already being looked into.

I don't want to have to refresh my computer as installing all my programs again would be a nightmare. These are issues I have had before anything was installed and I was hoping updates would take care of it but it hasn't.

Issue 1: Anytime I restart my computer it goes to the restart screen and the little circle of dots is there and moving but the computer gets stuck on the restart screen for hours until I finally get tired of waiting for it to restart and then I just power it down manually and restart it.

Issue 2: When it restarts and goes to my lock screen I have it so that I have to enter a pin to open the computer but something causes the number lock key to disengage upon reboot and I have to hit the number lock key to be able to type in my pin. Not a big deal unless you are a user that isn't aware of the number lock key and  thinks the computer is broken.

Any help with these 2 issues other than a refresh would be appreciated. Otherwise the computer runs great.

Issue 1: It sounds like maybe something installed didn't install correctly nd caused some corruption. Have you tried to maybe do a system restore and just roll it back to when it wasn't having problems to figure out what may be causing it, or has this been happening since the unit was purchased? If it's been happening since the unit was purchased doing a start-up repair may resolve it, otherwise you may need to do the refresh and I relaize that's not what you want to hear at all.

Issue 2: Since this is a desktop you should be able to go into the BIOS and set the number lock to on. I think since this is a touchscreen capable unit they don't assume that people will actually use the keyboard and mouse and just have it turned off by default.
