Hello i have Acer Aspire 6935g laptop and i just buy an SSD intel 520 series 120gb capasity with i400 firmware(latest).

My laptop refuse to see that ssd. I update my bios from version 1.04 to 1.20 and its still dont see it.

In other pc that ssd works just fine, so its not dead.

I have tryed in AHCI and IDE mode but nothing happend.

Also i have change the partition table of that SSD from MBR to GPT but nothing at all.

So can i do somethink else or that laptop is not support that SSD at all...??

Thank's....

Which manual would this be?  which page?

I'm not seeing anything indicating SATA II, which would be 3.0 Gbit/s.

yes you are wright in acer's manual dont write nothing about 3 gb's, sorry for wrong information.

i saw the 3gb's in spec of my hdd thats goes with my laptop...

so acer 6935g have an WD hdd (WDC WD3200BEVT-22ZCT0) and in this pdf:  http://pdfs.icecat.biz/pdf/24597838-263.pdf writes that in Interface (WDxxxxBEVT) the hdd is 3 gb's. so aspire goes with hdd that is 3gb's and that laptop dont support sata II with 3gb's ? i also have a pic from Speecy that shows my hdd. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qc1s4xl0t1pv9jz/Capture.PNG

At this point, it is arguing semantics.

Drives installed in the systems may vary by availability and I do not necessarily have the exhaustive list.

It does not support SATA III drives, which is what you are attempting to install.

i read that all ssd and this intell is compatible with sata II and at worst case with sata 1.. the only problem is that the speed of this ssd will be like sata II.

so when i buy that disk i thought that my laptop has sata II and it will works in sata II mode.. i didnt know that i have sata 1, so its my bad. and if i can do something and this ssd works it will be bad to have sata 1 speed.... the only think i cant understand why this laptop has sata 1.. when i buy it, it was 1 of the best acer laptops.

it has eSATA,HDMI,Blue ray,Full HD monitor,5.1 sound, gforce 9600gt, cpu intell centrino t9400...and all this goes with sata 1 interface. it make no sense... all that spec was good about 3-4 years ago of course..

thanks again for your time and reply's...
