I own an Acer Iconia 500. It was working perfectly till I did a factory reset to give the tablet to someone else. Now Play Store is saying, "error retrieving information from server." I go to system update and it tells me that my network is poor but I am able to get on the web and watch videos. I don't understand what the heck is going on with it. Please help!

The System Update issue is because the automatic update servers aren't online any longer for that model. That shouldn't affect Play Store however. Can you browse the internet?

Yes I can get on the web but I would like to download apps also. Play Store doesn't even show the apps. It just has a message that says, "error retrieving information from server." I can't download a single app.

Check and see if Play Store itself can be updated with this method.

I did that already. Didn't work for me. I don't know what the deal is. It's only the play store app that doesn't work. Everything else does.

From what I understand, Google did an update at their end to the Play Store some time ago that made it so much older versions no longer work. I'm guessing that's what you are running into. Which version of the OS are you running right now? There might be an OS upgrade that you can do to get it working. ICS (4.0) is the ltest for the A500 IIRC.
