I've just purchased an Iconia One 8 and looking to set up multiple user profiles - one for my son.

The 'users' option is not listed in the menu although it is shown in the user manual.

Does anyone have the same or know if its available?

Thanks

Hi thanks for your response, yes all updates are installed. Looks like Acer have disabled this option on this tablet Smiley Frustrated

I have a new Iconia one 10 which is probably the same problem.

I have been told (after purchase) by the Acer chat help that it is not possible. Despite the Acer website stating it is.

They said some of the Iconia ones will do it but were unable to tell me how to identify which ones would, other that a recommendation to go into a shop and see if they will let you try several until you can find one that does.

I think Acer has modified the software, as where the "Users" tab should be in settings is a Acer provided option.

After a few days I had a call from the escalated help desk and had to explain the problem again.  they had then to go away to find out about it.

Just called me back today and they confirm my tablet will not do it.  I  have to have a Iconia tab 10 a3 a30 whatever that is.

my unit will be going back.

Chat also gave me a phone number to call and denied it was a Google number! However if you dial it Google welcome you. They were quick and helpful and said the only way to multi user is via the "Users" tab in settings. Google could not understand why this tablet could not do multi user.

Acer have removed this facility, whiout makining it clear, so as long as you have just bought it and kept the reciep you can return it.

I am not impressed with Acer customer service as well - so I would advise thinking hard before buying Acer - even what should be a commodity, a Andriod tablet.

Returning the device is a sound idea. I have a tablet that is 6 months old, and skype will not work(I know, different problem) and has not worked for 2 months, but was part of the supplied package of apps on the tablet. This I believe/know is my last acer product. Seems too easy for support to ignore the problem, any excuse in a storm...a vendor problem, external software problem, etc They forget you may be a returning customer, or a customer who will not forget the problems/experience/lack of dedicated support and never return to try acer again! I am actively looking for a replacement to my only 6 month old acer tablet, and have already tried a couple of ASUS Zen*** ...there is no option for another acer...
