Hi

I have just purchased a S271HL Dbid and I can't say I am feeling very good about it.... but this might be because i haven't set it up very well. I am ruinning a dell laptop with windows 8.1 using hdmi to hdmi

The laptop connects fine, and the minitor displays at 1920, and its very sharp so that's good. However, the colours look washed out - I have tried playing around with the controls, to no real effect as yet.

I thought I'd use this site to getcheck out - and the first thing is that I need to check out the driver.

I registered the product fine follow though the links but NO DRIVER is shown beyonds windows 7. This is raising an alarm bell in my - but   Inotice the monitor is still being sold so I press on. I thought I'd try to email in to support, but it wouldn't accept either the registration or SNID numbers.

Why wont it accept the numbers???

Next question please. I read on an amazon review that the disc contains software to help calibarete the monitor - does anytone know if this is true, beause I can't find it.

I am getting close to packing the monitor up and taking it back to exchange it - which would be a shame, because it has good reviews.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts

Edward

it's ICC color profile that help calibrate it, not drivers.

have a look here and try their icc profile:

many thanks for the reply. Bit of a noob at this so...

I have downloaded the file and unzipped it.

I right click on the file called 'S271HL.icm' and it says 'install profile' so did. Though no comment boxes came up telling me anything had happened

But nothing changed so I reckon there is something else that I need to do... but I don't know what. Something to do with my graphics card - nvidea

    Thanks again

    press windows key and type

    color management

    click it

check if the downloaded ICC profile is set as default profile.

on the Monitor OSD (monitor settings, not windows)

    brightness to 41

Thanks again IronFly - appreciate your help

I have checked, and it is set for the default for this monitor.

I have reduced the brightness as you suggested too.

I can't decide if its better or not to be honest - sill looks a bit washed out.

    Hi maxelcat,

    Edit: I confused two issues.

If you're not able to get through email support in the UK, please send me a screenshot with your SN and the error that you're receiving and I can ask the local team to review.

    Thanks,
    Cory
