Acer Switch 10 - Windows 8, random short beeps while working.

Hi!

 

Recently, I got my Acer Switch 10 back from guarantee. Mainboard and hard disc were replaced. System was installed again. Since that time, when I work on PC from time to time I can hear a short beep sound. The same, that some BIOS gives when booting the system. Do you have any idea what can be the root cause, what I can check?

I would appreciate any ideas and comments. I'm worried if it's not a hardware issue again (Don't want to loose my data and time like last time)

    those Beeps appaer on battery power or AC charge?

    can be something related to battery charging?

    Thanks for your comment. I have checked. There is no difference if the computer is AC charged or running on battery only.

    What I'm afraid about most (beside that those beeps sometimes become annoying) is that it's a symptom of a hardware issue which can end up badly one day...

    Any chance the beeping corresponds to touchpad movements?

    I have recorded the 'event'. Look here https://youtu.be/MP9WRRZ7RoI Honestly, it sounds a bit different in reality. More like normal 'beep' Smiley Wink. In the movie it's too similar to mouse click.

     

    No, it's not connected with touchscreen and touchpad. I use USB wireless keyboard+mouse set.

    I was not able to record it loud with my phone, but in this Video https://youtu.be/IqlmftU5FNQ at least it's the only sound. Volume up and at 3sec it sounds almost like in a reality. I hope it's better.

    Does your model have the 500GB HDD on the keyboard dock?

    Yes. It has HDD in the docking station. Was replaced recently together with motherboard on guarantee.

    I'm pretty sure that I can hear that beep also while working without docking station. I will confirm as soon as I can.

    Yes, please check if it beeps even without the keyboard but this seems a "normal" beep from the HDD. (some HDDs are more noisy than others)
