I bought computer off one of my friends friend, but she did not erase all of her information on it. How am I able to erase everything off of the computer? Everytime I try to erase the files it says to insert windows recovery media. Am I able to create a recovery media with a USB?

<When I tried to create a USB recovery drive the recovery partition was greyed out. What does it mean if I do not have a recovery partition?>

There are two types of recovery media. What it sounds like you are trying to get is the version that includes all the Acer drivers and software which was originally installed in a recovery partition on your drive. Often when doing an OS upgrade that partition is either wiped or deleted. What you are supposed to do is create installation media instead. That gives you the ability to refresh or reset your OS, but might mean reinstalling the Acer specific drivers after the OS is redone. Best is to create the installation media (on a usb thumb drive, for instance) and a second one with all the appropriate drivers. Then you can do an OS reset plus the driver installs and you end up with a fresh tablet. You won't have any of your application though, so make sure you have media and keys for them before starting the process.

If you just want to wipe out the previous owners data just login using your own account, make sure you have admin privileges, and delete their account, including files. That should pretty much remove all their private data but leave all the apps alone.
