Acer 7750g driving me creazy

I have an acer 7750g with an 6650m gpu that's showing vertical black lines on my destop and having random blue screens, shutdowns

I already checked the hd and ram on problems but these are fine.

If I google around for this problem this seems to be a widespread problem.

anyone who can give me some pointers to fix this problem ?

I already did a bios update but this doesn't fix the problems.

If i play a video the stripes are gone, so i'm hoping it's not the 6650m card.

If i don't install the catalypse drivers the problems are also less / gone.

Didn't try the video bios fixes beceause I don't know the version installed.

Have you tried to HDMI or VGA out to a TV or another monitor to double check the video adapter?
