Extend Battery life

I have a new Acer F 15 - F5572G70FJ        -      I normally have my laptop plugged into the power and remove the battery so that battery life is not shortened with continual charging. Is there a way of turning off the charging ability of the battery? Is there some other way I can save my battery?

Ideas much appreciated.

Either leaving a battery at full charge with charger connected or allowing a battery to sit with little charge and no charger is detremental over the long term. Best is to periodically cycle the charge. So you might choose to take it off the charge and discharge fully once a week or once a month. Otherwise leave it plugged in. Most modern chargers cycle down as the full charge is reached so they can't overcharge.
