why does my tablet say full when there appears to still memory available

Hi,  I have an acer 7.  8G of storage.  I look at the storage usage and when I total it up.. system, apps, etc.. I only get about 6G used.  However when I try to update apps it says no storage available.  When I check the available storage it shows only 200M or so.  The numbers just don't seem to add up for me?  Anyone else having this?

It's likely partially having to do with programming sizes vs. disk sizes. In programming, 1K os 1024, 1M is 1024*1024 (1048576), 1G is 1024*1024*1024 (1073741824). in disk sizing they use 1k=1000, 1m=1000000, 1g=1000000000. So 8GB in disk size shows up as 7.45GB in programming terms. Also the OS puts some space aside for temporary files and such, which doesn't show in the space used but does in the space available.
