Hello fellow Forum members. I am gathering pre-purchase information. Local Micro Center in Boston has this model for $899. I really like it, but it has only 8gb memory.

I would like to know if the 8gb memory is integrated into the motherboard, or can it be removed and will the motherboard recognize a 16gb memory card.

Additional question. Can the 256gb SSD be swapped for a 512gb and if so which one works best.

OR, would appreciate suggestions for alternate model.

What I like about the R7-372T-77LE:

Build quality
When in tablet mode, the keyboard does not become the bottom of the computer because of the unique design
i76500U
USB3 ports
(Ethernet Port would be nice but can use a USB dongle to convert)
Bluetooth
Secure Digital port

HDMI standard size port
256gb SSD

Thanks in advance if anybody can answer these questions.

The memory has to be soldered on the MB. Acer shows nothing about where it is or replacement parts.

The SSD can indeed be replaced with a 512MB. These are the ones Acer shows for this:

    Flash Disk KINGSTON SSD NAND 512GB RBU-SNS8152S3/512GF LF+HF KN.51207.001

    Flash Disk HYNIX SSD NAND 512GB HFS512G39MND-3510A LF+HF KN.5120G.027

    Flash Disk LITE-ON SSD NAND 512GB CV1-8B512 LF+HF KN.5120L.005

Flash Disk SAMSUNG SSD NAND 512GB MZVPV512HDGL LF+HF PCIe NVMe KN.5120B.030

The Aspire R7-372T get's good ratings.

Is that for sure a "Yes" the 16gb memory is supported by the motherboard provided I can remove the old memory and solder the 16gb version to the motherboard?

Big thanks for the SSd replacements suggestions. Much appreciated.

I don't know for a fact, but I'm going to say no, I don't think it will support 16GB.

OK Thanks. If you have a link to the motherboard/memory I would like to take a look at it. See what Acer says about replacing the memory.

The Acer Service manual doesn't say anything about replacing the memory. Doesn't say or show where the memory and doesn't list any memory in the parts lists.

You will have to remove the motherboard and locate the memory chips on the board.

    Hi,

I am insterested in upgrading my R13 R7 372T 53MV (i5 6200u with Liteon CV1-8B256) to an one terabit ssd. Before purchasing, i read your message and you seem to indicate that the samsung sm951 MZVPV512HDGL using PCIE bus is compatible.

    http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/products/flash-storage/client-ssd/MZVPV512HDGL?ia=831

However I cannot get the samsung 960 evo 1tb PCIE i bought to be recognized by the bios.

Is my R13 R7 372T 53MV compatible with PCIE x4 ssd or only with SATA ssd ?

Can it accept one terabit ssd ?

    Thank you in advance !

Same question. Is it possible to install drivers so the computer will recognize 960 Evo SSD in the BIOS?
