Hello there,

I just bought Acer Aspire G3620-UR318 Predator laterly.  The computer came with a 128GB SSD and pre-installed with Windows 8.

I'm trying to downgrade to Windows 7, however, everytime when it boots from my Windows 7 installation DVD, the computer freezes at Windows logo, the installation cannot proceed.

I wonder if this is related to BIOS setup or anything else.  I called technical support and seemed like they were neighter helpful nor friendly.

Can someone please shed some light on me?  I would truly appreciate it!

    Hi,

I understand that the Windows 8 was preinstalled in the computer. So before you change the operating system, please understand your system configuration and then select the right version. In this case if you contact the Microsoft, they will let you know which version ( 32 bit or 64 bit) is be more compatible with this computer.

Every computer performs most with the preloaded OS

    Thank you Smiley Happy

Thanks for your reply.  It's not the issue whether preloaded Windows 8 performs or not.  It's about clean installation of Windows 7.  BTW, I know it's 64 bit version.

Anyway, I finally figured it out myself. It's a BIOS uncompatible issue. I'm gonna write it done in case someone comes across the same question.

VERY IMPORTANT to know that Windows 8 using UEFI BIOS.  In order to install Windows 7, you need to enter BIOS setup, select Boot Options, with Launch CSM highlighted, press Enter and use the down arrow to select Always. Save your changes and restart. Here you go~~~

I guess the best solutin for me would be to get a boyfriend and it will save all troubles. Smiley Very Happy
