I want to buy a Predator AG6-710-70001 Desktop, but with the SSD upgraded to 512 GB

The 128 GB SSD that comes by default with the Predator AG6-710-70001 Desktop PC isn't good enough for the best performance in some of the games I want to play. So I'd like to buy one that has an upgrade to a 512 GB SSD. Surely this can be done by someone at Acer or at the Microcenter store (in Atlanta GA) that I hope to do business with.

The specs on the Predator AG6-710-70001 are otherwise satisfactory: I don't want any of them changed at all. I especially want the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970 video card, since it's on a sweet spot in cost vs. performance. Only the SSD needs to be upgraded.

The only other question I have is a minor one. Can the 16x DVDR/RW SuperMulti optical Drive read M-disc DVDs? yes/no? It's not a big deal if it can't, as I already have external read-writers for M-disc DVDs. It would be nice if the optical drive on the Predator could read them, but it isn't really necessary.

    Hello,

You can upgrade the SSD to 512Gb. The models are shipped with a SSD M.2 2280 SATA 3 of 128/256/512Gb.

Just thought I'd mention... I have this model and I picked up a 256 M.2 to replace the 128 M.2 boot drive it came with.  I also had to pick up a mSATA to USB3.0 adapter to clone the drive.  I used Acronis and a couple other pieces of software and couldn't get this drive to clone properly... basially I could clone the 128 onto the 256 but unfortunately I couldn't expand the partition afterwords to fill in the extra space... and when I managed to force that to happen the 256 M.2 wasn't recognized as a boot drive (all the hidden partitions became their own volumes).  So I took the 256 M.2 back, exchanged it for a 500gb SATA SSD and plugged it into the front loading bay, I'll have to keep the 128 as a Windows and essential apps only drive I guess.  Never had issues like that with cloning before... but figured it was worth mentioning.

The only other option would be to install windows from scratch... unfortunately the G6 doesn't come with any kind of windows installer (beyond the recovery sector of the boot drive) or access to one online, that I can find...

Thanks. I will ask my agent (my brother) to request that a technician install a 512 GB SSD in the store and make sure that it works properly before he buys it for me.

The best way is to use the recovery media and the backup of your personal data.

Cloning works correctly with the same size of disk... it's my personal advise.
