aspire v5 531p touch don't work. Screen replace? hlp

my touch has always been funny. sometimes it would quit working and restart and it would work again. my cuz dropped and cracked the screen..(not bad) and the touch worked for a couple more days. now it hasnt worked for a year. Can it be fixed with some trick? ( I see no driver update....or driver at all) I tried to uninstall the driver and re install but I really dont think I did that right....I AM A NOOB!!!. I will get a new screen if I need to .....I neeed advice. Can this be fixed? if I need a new screen....will that fix my touch? how do I know it will? is there a test to show a new screen will make my touch work again?  If I get a new screen.....There are a few to choose from....Touch LCD Screen +Digitizer Glass +Bezel    AND   do I need all that?

If a touchscreen is cracked, it will never be right. A crack is sure to have damaged the resistive layers in the touchscreen.
You need to replace the screen. If This would do.

You have to disassemble the laptop. Up to and including the motherboard to replace it.

If the touchscreen was not working before it was cracked, this may not fix it.
