Switch SW5-012 maximum SD card size (Feb 2016)

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has any experience of using high capacity (256gb, 512gb) SDHC / SDXC cards with this model of the switch?

I'd love to be able to increase the storage size of this lovely little machine so easily as to just put in a microSD card.

I know there's been a few BIOS updates which I have installed so wondered if they might have covered it. Specs on Acer site just say that is's SD / SDXC compatible. Other forum posts only mention compatibility up to 64gb so thought it wise to check before ordering anything bigger than that.

Cheers,
Will

You should be able to use any SDXC card as they become available. I think the 128GB cards are as big as they go at the moment, though there might be some 256GB card either out or on the near horizon. It takes longer for them to hit the shelves in the Micro SD form factor.

I've used a 128GB micro in most of my Windows machines now with no problem. For me a 64GB is usually enough.
