Hello

I have stored the above laptop without mains connected for approx 4-5 weeks.  Today I fired up the OS is Win 10. I left the machine downloading updates and when I returned aprox 90 mins later. The machine was switched off. Using the on/off button had no effect. I then noticed that when I had pressed the on button there is a sequence of 5 flashing orange lights above the battery icon the front of machine. I've checed out the power supply a nd that is all OK. I'm struggling to find a solution. Some speak of disconnecting battery? I cannot see were the battery fits.  I have searched Ebay for a relevant battery but incredibly there are none I can  find.  Please assist me.  I am using an old machine but need my e17 back working.  Life is tough enough being disabled.  I am a Fire Service Veteran

Hoping someone can assist me with my dilemma Thanks in advance

  • Hello,

    1. What model do you own exactly?
    2. Could you give me the first ten characters of the computer serial number (S/N)? Only the first ten.

    Hello

    Firstly, Many Thanks for 'speedy' assistance to my question - most pleasing. Smiley Very Happy

    In answer to the further information you ask of, here is

    Serial Number:NXMS2EK003 {FIRST 10 Characters}

    Model: Acer Aspire e1-711 though on outer packaging it states e17.

    I'm operating Win 10.1

    There is absolutely NO noise or attempt to boot up. There are NO indicators except that for pressing the power button the battery light flashes 5 times orange coloured.

    I hope these details can shed some light on the issue.

    Many Thanks in advance
