Aspire V5-473P-5602 Black Builtin Screen

Hi,

I have an issue with the builtin screen - nothing is displayed. However, the touch screen seems to work (pinch and zoom) as I am able to connect external monitor using HDMI cable.

Since my V5 is 16 months old, I am trying to figure out if I should send it for repair. (Want to make sure that the builtin screen is actually broken)

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Danny

Specifics:

- added 8 GB ram for total of 12GB

- update to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1

- Device Manager show Generic PnP Monitor in the Monitors section (and Dell_ST2310_HDMI)

do you have the black screen from boot?

    No Acer logo displayed?

you can check if it's only the backlight inverter gone; just point a flashlight to your laptop screen when at desktop and have a close look if you can see any image.

if you can see an image, it's the backlight inverter gone or a bad monitor cable (very rare).

if you don't see any image, can be a bad or loose monitor cable or a dead panel.

this issue can be a loose monitor cable or dead lcd panel; so need to be repaired.
