Driver installation for XZ350CU

Hi

Can someone please let me know how the Monitor driver for the XZ350CU is supposed to be installed?

I have downloaded the ZIP file from the Acer website, the content of the ZIP file is three files:

ACERXZ350CU.ICM

ACERXZ350CU.inf

zx350CU WHQL_sign.hckx

But Window 10 won't recongnize any of these files as a driver, so I am stuck with a Generic PnP driver .

I also tried to skip the Driver installation wizard and install using the "Have Disk" option, but then it finds the driver, but says the .inf file is not digitally signed and thus can not be installed.

Acer please fix this!

The plug and play monitor driver should be adequate, but if you want to install the .icm driver, try disabling signed driver enforcement using the instructions at http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38289

Having a major issue with this too I can't seem to get any refresh rate greater than 60hz which is a joke because this is a 144hz monitor.

Can someone please post some help on how to get the proper refresh rate sorted? It's really annoying having an awesome monitor that I can't get the full use of because of bloody windows 10 Smiley Sad

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Many thanks in advance ,

    Hey Hurricane,

Windows 10 is not to blame here.

If you have nVidia or AMD software for your graphics card installed you should be able to set the frequency there, even if you only have the monitor recongnized as a generic plug-n-play monitor.

The reason why you can't install the driver from Acer out-of-the-box is Acer's fault for not getting the drivers properly certifed.

    Hi guys,

Monitor drivers are just fancy text files that serve two main purposes. Tell Windows what to call the monitor, and what resolutions it can support. Windows has basic support for the 2560x1080 so it's pretty limiting in what it can do. Microsoft driver certification is not free and ultimately, that cost is absorbed by the consumer. As Blayn mentioned earlier, you can turn the requirement for driver signatures off and install an Windows 8/8.1 driver.

For the issue with adjusting the refresh rate to 144hz, you need to be using Display Port (HDMI won't work) and it should be set in the Catalyst Control Center (assuming AMD).

I'm trying to use the Generic PnP driver that comes up in Windows 10.  The video is operating but the built-in sound interface is not showing up in Windows.  So is this the result of not being able to utilize the official Acer driver?

Can someone provide a screen capture of device manager where the audio hardware appears?
