After Windows 10 install my internet keeps crashing

I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 2 weeks ago on my Acer Aspire E15 (E5-571) and have had continual internet shutdown issues. My internet company came out and replaced the modem but said the signal was fine but it still crashes every so often. Does anyone have any ideas about what to do about this? Thank you.

ehm...that happens because you installed winrar on your laptop and it's telling you it's not free, not Acer fault.

please uninstall winrar and use windows built in unzipper.

please update wifi and LAN drivers:

you need to check on Device manager, which WiFi adapter is installed on your laptop and then download the correct one.

    windows logo key + x

    click on Device manager

    click on network adapters

Thank you IronFly. I do appreciate your feedback. Two things: 1) I don't have wifi, I use direct connection with an ethernet cable (not that that should matter) but yet, 2) I already found out about the fix you suggested from Windows but when I went to replace my two drivers on the Acer website I was told that these drivers aren't free, that in 4 months I will have to pay something for them.

Personally, if I have to pay to get Windows 10 working correctly, no thanks. I've had other issues at times since I updated to W10 on Feb. 1, such as browsers locking up on me, and while this hasn't happened in about a week, I'd still rather go back to 8.1 than to have to pay for this update because I have no guarantee it's going to resolve the problem. I never had any problems with W8.1 and I've had my laptop for over a year (and I did make a copy of it using Macrium just in case of these kind of issues because before updating I heard a lot of bad things about Windows 10. It's one of the reasons I waited for awhile before doing it).

When I wrote my question I was hoping someone might have come up with a free fix for this issue. Anyone else?

    what?

no way that Acer is asking money for a driver update, it's completly free!

have you clicked on the link i posted above?

by the way this is the ethernet driver:

    http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/CardReader/CardReader_Realtek_10.0.10125.21277_W10x64_A.zip?acerid=635754881052324634&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%20E5-571&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6

just for curiosity, can you take a screenshot of this 4 months end support and money asking?

I guess you haven't clicked on the link you gave me in awhile. It's free to download but when you click on it to install this message appears: "Please note that WinRaR is not free software. After a 40 day trial period you must either buy a license or remove it from your computer." And it has a button to click on in order to buy it online. This happens for any of the drivers that are listed there on the Acer website (from the link you shared in your first response. So if these drivers are suppose to be free there is something wrong somewhere. ;(
