Aspire Switch 10 sw-011: In Apps view, I can't see some Acer's apps

I've purchased a second hand Aspire Switch 10 sw-011.

In Apps view, I can't see some important Acer's apps

Maybe, the former owner has deleted them.

Now, as a first step of my own, I'd download Acer Recovery Management, Acer Power Management, etc.

Where can I download them?

you can also try to do a system reset.

press ALT+F10 at boot and follow onscreen instructions.

the only Acer application available to download are available here:

    http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5687;-;SW5-011

select your OS and click on applications.

OK. I'll try to tomorrow. I'll write back, too.

Yes, I've seen the only app available. A bit disappointed.

    What about Acer Care Center?

    Is it downloadable?

Its descripition isn't transparent enough apropos of its structure.

It happens, try ALT+F10 to restore your Switch10 to factory state, i hope the previous owner didn't delete the "recovery" partition.

Well, I have tried to reset it per taking Alt + F10 at boot, it took place indeed, after that I only spent a lot of time while moving from default opts towards personalized ones, however, I still can see in the subfolder Acer only the 3 Apps as follows: Acer User's Manual, Identity Card, Live Updater. Nothing else.

Now, I'd think that the Home version as compared to the Pro version doesn't have those apps I have mentioned in my first posting above.

Can anybody who has Aspire Switch 10 sw-011 indicate whether the Recover Management, Power Management apps are available or not. Maybe, those are available only within Pro, but not Home version. Thanks in advance.

have you tried pressing windows logo key and then typing Acer recovery, to check if it's available?

By the way, Acer erecovery just triggers windows default recovery software, so you can create an USB recovery using windows too:

    windows logo key

    type

    recovery

click on Create a recovery drive

double check that "bakcup system files..." is ticked, plug an USB flash drive and press next.

About Acer care center, i'm now sure that Switch10 has it, Live updater was the official software to check drivers/BIOS updates.

Sorry, I felt disappointed and didn't wrote that I had successfully recovered the software, but there were no such apps as expected: no Acer Drive Management, no Acer Power Management, etc. I meant that the following text was clear enough to understand that the recovery didn't help. Then, after that I spent a lot of time to come from the defaults to the personalized choices. Even the Lock Screen appeared, which was not the case before. The former owner worked apparently on the issue.

If I try to start the downloaded file of the CareCenter, it writes back immediately that my pc is not compatible.

However, I can see the Acer Live Updater among the 3 items from Acer available  on my tablet. While Acer Drive Management, Acer Power Management, etc. not. So, I must suppose that these apps have not been supplied with the MS Windows 8.1 Home version. The issue  has to be researched.

Now, some people assert that the MS Home and Pro versions have the same set of utilities, so there is no difference in this regard, but Acer's 32 Gb model doesn't have Recovery Manager.

This is not the very first portable of mine, I have been running  over 5 models from IBM-Lenovo.

They all have many options for preserving the built in battaries. While in my Acer there are no options for that though the battary isn't removable in tablets. Nearly all smartphones do have energy savers. Instead of that, Acer has removed the Power Management utility even while there are no power saving options available!

The way Acer puts through their policy apropos of their software isn't acceptable.

Next time I'll be carrying around the idea to buy something from Acer more profoundly.

First, they do have their service software downloadable.

Then, it's not downloadable any more.

There is a great reason not to buy everything produced by Acer any more, too.

Why should I be searching around for this service software?

As if I were asking for the software which had been offered some 10 to 20 years ago!
